I grew up stuffing one VHS tape into the VCR after another and playing Nintendo. It’s on my mind every day. I play and run games with rich lore. I think every piece of art can contain narrative and inject it wherever I can. Collaboration is important to me. I want to work in a team of artists that bounce ideas off each other and give each other feedback. The human element is important in a creative endeavor. My strength is in my adaptability. Being an artist means you can never stop learning. You have to research the anatomy of the universe and everything else, too. I'm not satisfied with meeting expectations. I want to blow you away. So I am always diving deeper into We had no neighbors on the road I grew up on. No one for miles. My father was an art teacher with a love for sci fi, horror, and super heroes that he shared with me. I lived in my imagination. I drew constantly. When I got out of high school I joined the Marine Corps, and was dramatically thrown into the world. I saw incredible things in countries that seemed alien to me at the time. I lived in Tokyo for over a year and in Saudi Arabia after that. At the end of my travels, I tallied up 22 countries on 6 continents. Afterward, I wound up in Arizona, where I rediscovered my passion for art, and I haven't stopped making it since.
I pull inspiration from these experiences and rich cultures that I've visited. I feel comfortable in new lands and ideas. My strength is my adaptability.
If you were to ask me my favorite style, it would be painterly realism. I love to make art that is as technically accurate as it is narrative. Art that is dynamic and bold, but also elegant and subtle. That is my goal for the art I make for myself. When it's a commission, I thrive in any environment. Any artist worth their salt must be able to create something they are proud of no matter how strict the guidelines. That is my goal: to make art I am proud of.
